5 CheaperForDrug features you won't find at an ordinary online pharmacy

An online pharmacy shows you its own prices. CheaperForDrug looks at your whole basket across many online pharmacies and tells you where it costs least. Here are five things it does that a single shop cannot.

1. One result for your whole basket (free)

You add everything you need to the basket: medicines, vitamins, supplements. The comparison adds up the products and the delivery cost at each online pharmacy and shows the one where the whole basket costs least. Prices are checked at the moment you compare. When splitting the order between two pharmacies comes out cheaper, the result says so.

The cheapest product and the cheapest order are often in different places, because delivery costs and free-delivery thresholds differ. That is why we compare the total, not single prices.

2. A basket check (free)

Before you order, the basket check looks at the products together. It flags the same active substance appearing twice, two medicines from the same group, and pairs that their summaries of product characteristics advise against taking together. It does not replace advice: if something is flagged, ask a pharmacist.

3. Cheaper substitutes (Premium)

Many products have an equivalent with the same active substance, strength and form at a lower price. Premium suggests such substitutes for the products in your basket, so the total can drop further. You decide whether to swap.

4. Buying when your basket is cheaper than usual (Premium)

Prices at online pharmacies change. Premium watches the price of your saved basket and lets you know when it is cheaper than usual. It also tells you how many packs to buy when the price has dropped.

5. A year of basket prices and reminders (Premium)

A chart shows your basket's price over 12 months, so you can see whether today's total is a good one. Tell us how much you take a day, and a week before you run out we email you a reminder with the basket's current price.

Free and Premium

The comparison is free for everyone, with no limit, and always shows the cheapest pharmacy for your basket. A saved basket and a price alert are free too. Premium is an annual subscription for people who buy regularly: cheaper substitutes, a message when your basket is cheaper than usual, a year of basket prices and reminders before you run out. It renews automatically each year, and we remind you 7 days before it does.
